From 15 November 2018 to 6 January 2019 at the Wilhelma.
After the tremendous success of Christmas at Kew in London and the Christmas Garden Berlin, for the first time in a dream setting at the Wilhelma.
“With the Christmas Garden Stuttgart, a wish cherished for a long time is being fulfilled: illuminating the Wilhelma with plenty of effects and making it accessible in the evening,” says Wilhelma Director Dr Thomas Kölpin full of anticipation. “The historical park with its extraordinary architecture in the Moorish style develops an unbelievable charm which fits perfectly into the Christmas period. The Christmas Garden will be an impressive highlight in the annual programme of the Zoological-Botanical Garden of which even regular guests of many years will say quite rightly: I’ve never seen the Wilhelma like this before.”
The sensation is perfect, because the Wilhelma will be transformed this winter into an illuminated fairy-tale setting with breath-taking plays of light in the former royal park, impressively staged Moorish architecture and illuminated characters. On an approximately two-kilometre long trail families, friends and couples can spend a wonderful and contemplative evening in a magical setting full of discoveries. Millions of light points and colourful illuminations immerse the former royal complex into a pre-Christmas blaze of lights which has never been presented in this way in southern Germany before.
