No, children younger than 6 years have free admission to the Christmas Garden.

Yes. Since the admission per hour is limited and we would like to offer you an experience which is as relaxed as possible, you have the possibility to select an hourly admission time slot during which you can access the Christmas Garden. However, you can fully experience the Christmas Garden until it closes at 10 pm.

No, you have to come within the stated hour in order to relieve the admission situation and avoid big crowds in the Garden. The stay may, however, be extended until 10 pm at the latest.

A return of tickets is unfortunately not possible. In accordance with § 312g para 2 sentence 1 no. 9 BGB (German Civil Code) there is no right of cancellation when acquiring tickets despite the actual existence of a distance transaction. Unfortunately this also means that the two-week right of cancellation and return is completely excluded at the purchasing of tickets.

An open air event basically takes place at any weather – including rain. You should be aware of this when purchasing a ticket. Any return of tickets in case of bad weather unfortunately is excluded as long as there is no acute danger for visitors. On our website and in our social media channels we inform our guests about possible weather-related closures of the Christmas Garden. Please have a look at

If tickets are lost, it is unfortunately generally not possible to replace or reprint them. Tickets are like cash and should be treated and kept with the same care. If you can no longer find your tickets, please contact the booking office and we will try to find a joint solution. Tip: At you have the possibility to book a print@home ticket. You receive it directly by email and can call it up whenever you want.

When purchasing your tickets for Christmas Garden at you have the possibility to chose print@home tickets. With this option you can buy your tickets last-minute and print them at home or bring them along (PDF-file) on your mobile device.

By buying your tickets in advance sales you can take the “fast lane” on site. In this way you contribute to reduced waiting times and a relaxed experience.

Unfortunately, yes. For the individual time slots, there is only a limited quota of tickets in order to ensure a contemplative and calm atmosphere. Once this quota is exhausted, this time slot is considered to be “sold out”.
In this case, we ask for your understanding, that no additional person can get access to the Christmas Garden during this time slot concerned and you have to adjust a later admission time.

No, since the Christmas Garden is a special event at the Pillnitz Palace & Park, the day or year tickets of the Pillnitz Palace & Park do not grant any access. 

Please note, because of the special event from 14th November 2018 until 6th of January 2019, the Pillnitz Palace & Park closes at 4pm for all visitors. 

The Christmas Garden Dresden is a special event in Schloss & Park Pillnitz for the Christmas Season. Especially installed Illuminations and catering services for this event allogorize an temporary add on to the usual park services.

Yes, persons with a severely disabled pass who have a corresponding mark (B) may take an accompanying person to the Christmas Garden free of charge. In any case, the severely disabled pass must be shown as proof.

The itinerary at the Christmas Garden is barrier-free and hence accessible for wheelchairs. On site you will find disabled-friendly toilets.

The tour is approximately 2 kilometres long and takes approximately 1.5 hours. Of course you can have breaks on your way and extensively admire our installations or stay longer at our photo points. Toilets and catering are likewise available along the way.

Of course! Hot and cold food and beverages are available for your refreshment. The offering includes sweet and savoury dishes. Enjoy!

Yes. The Christmas Garden is a walk through the Pillnitz Palace & Park with Christmas illumination and all the walkways are accessible with a buggy. Moreover, there is a limited number of handcarts on site.

No, unfortunately animals can not be taken to the Pillnitz Palace & Park.

No, unfortunately sleighs are not allowed in the area of the Pillnitz Palace & Park.

Unfortunately bicycles cannot be taken into the area of the Pillnitz Palace & Park.
Please keep in mind that currently there are only a few bicycle racks outside the area.

Yes, our installations can be photographed and a tripod for photographs may also be used.

No, the exhibition rooms are unfortunately not part of the trail and, therefore, remain closed. During the winter half year guided tours of the palace museum take place every hour between 11 am and 2 pm during the weekend.

Yes, with an increased security and steward staff as well as a professional admission organisation we meet the security standards which have been tightened over the past years, taking into account state of the art standards. In the interest of a quick admission, we recommend that you absolutely refrain from taking along large bags.

No, public transport is not included in the ticket.

We recommend using public transportation. There is only a limited number of parking spaces available around the Christmas Garden! The following chargeable parking area is located directly on the area:

  • Parking area Leonardo-da-Vinci-Straße (chargeable)
  • Parking area Lohmener Straße (chargeable)
